I am reminded of a very catchy song “I got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, where? down in my heart”… that we sang quite often at children’s services. In just a few seconds mimicking the smiles that’s around us, joining the circle of praise, clapping our hands, gracefully singing our heart away, for the moment, but do we really feel that way, and what can we do to stay in that moment forever?!

First let us examine JOY in its context.

JOY- is an emotion that is evoked by well-being, success, or blessing, of desires fulfilled.

The type of Joy I am talking about here, is not situational, or circumstantial, as the world gives, but everlasting, and promising no matter what situation we face.

The JOY of the Lord is my strenght. It is the Joy that keeps on giving, never runs dry, and keeps on refilling. JOY that simply flows from the heart, like a melody spreading to the outside, gracefully greeting everyone with a smile. Happiness that does not come from having everything, but being simply content in everything.

It is imperative that we boost our spirit, with a CUP of JOY TODAY. A boost that lasts through troubles, faces struggles, but still keeps a smile on your face. Strength that is available to us DAILY!

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” (James 1:2-3)

“Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.” (Ecclesiastes 9:7)

“The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.” (Proverbs 10:28)

“Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.” (Psalm 27:6)

I am reminded that the Joy of the Lord is my strength, and like a refill in a cup, I am refilled with his Glory, DAILY!
