This year I decided to host Thanksgiving lunch for a few friends, and family. We started with a few choices on the menu, and before we knew it, we ended up with more than a few choices, and varieties of meals for our final turn out.

Every kind of plate our heart desired was served at this table. We had turkey, and gravy, creole sauce, lazagna, white rice, caribean rice, collard greens, potatoes, pasta salad, green salad, fried chicken, mac n cheese, apple pie, crackers and cheese, chips and dip. {I told you I like to mix and match our meals} ALL for 12 people. It was more than enough to go around, and even a few plates, to take home.

Here’s a snapshot of a few dishes.

It was a JOY for me to see our loved one’s laugh, and have a good time. All the planning, all the cooking, the late night Turkey preparation, early morning last minute details, was worth it, for an afternoon of fellowship, and relaxation with your loved one’s.

It reminds me of the command that was given to Nehemiah. Go drink, and eat food, have fun, and give some food to others, for the JOY of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10)

And also

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4)

When the Lord blesses you, he gives you everything your heart desires. Kind of like Thanksgiving lunch or dinner, where food of every kind is served, to the ubandance if your heart.
