Trials and Temptations James 1:1-8

A LETTER James 1-8 (NIV)

FROM: James, a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ

TO:  The twelve tribes scattered among the nations

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.  But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Trials are those moments of struggles, persecutions, and problems, that come at us, as saints at all sides, also known as FIRES!
A TRIAL is a process of testing/trying, to achieve desirable results.
Trials come in all shapes, and sizes, and also last for seasons. These trials seem to come out of nowhere, and are part of our walk. Trials or fires are for our benefit, which make us stronger, able to withstand the enemy.
In this chapter James, a disciple of Christ, is saying “rejoice” when u go through trials! For it produces perseverance!
To rejoice is to feel joyful; and be delighted.
But how can I rejoice in my trials?
These moments are uncomfortable, and painful…
The JOY of the Lord is our strength! These tests are only here to strengthen us, not hurt us.

Keep in mind, after you go through such tests and trials you will mature, grow, and not lack anything.

We have all been through trials, the KEY here is to persevere through those testing moments, and seasons, and come out Victorious
The next trial you go through, picture the finish line, and keep your eyes on heaven. Run the RACE set before you, until you reach your GOAL.

If you need God’s help, invite him into your fire, and ask him to help you endure your trials. He will help you, and strengthen you. He is a good good father.

If you lack wisdom, also known as understanding, ask God to give you wisdom, and insight of the trial. When you ask, believe and it shall be given to you. We must not doubt God or we should not expect anything from him.

Do you doubt God when you pray?
Ask him to help your unbelief. Read his word more so that you grow in Faith and trust.

Lord Jesus help us to run this race set before us and finish ahead. Help us to grow in you and trust you. Help our faith Lord, in Jesus name Amen.
