The fruit of the spirit

We call everyone a Christian because they go to a particular church, sing in a choir, or heavily involved in ministry.

But are they really a Christian?

Religious pharisee attended synogue, and were heavily involved in ministry, they paid thithes, and followed the law, yet Christ called them hypocrites, and whitewashed tombs.

So going to church does not make one a christian, or reciting biblical verses makes one a believer, what makes one a christian is the fruit of the spirit.

If a christian does not exemplify Christ in any way, why is that person called a Christian? Because he goes to church, because she attends weekly meetings, because he’s a biblical scholar, or a member of a particular club? Where is the fruit?

None of that counts if you are in it for religious purposes and practices; you can look good, sound good, but have no relationship with Christ. You can dress good, and present a perfect image, but your inner heart is filthy, wicked, and full of pride, serving the devil.

A follower of Christ reflects Christ not the world. A follower of Christ follows in his footsteps, not conforms to the world. A follower rejects sin, and embraces righteousness. Denies flesh, but is moved by the spirit. Pleases the Lord, but displeases the world, hates and rejects poison. Walks the narrow path, stays away from the path of destruction. Councils the Lord in all his ways, rejects the unfamiliar voices, runs from strangers. Lives the bible, not just reads the bible, speaks life, and destroys lies.

But if a christian still cusses, still bitter, still entertaining sin, how is that a follower? Which direction is one following? Whose principles does he or she follow? There should be CHANGE, growth, and development, visible, there should be fruit, there should be harvest, and if not, is it really a christian, or one that is part of the building, but not the body?

By their fruit you will know them.

Matthew 7:16-20
You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them

The fruit is defined as a result or reward that comes from some action or activity. (

In other words fruit is the harvest of the seeds planted. Whatever is planted in the heart of a person, will be the fruit of that labor. If there is deceit, lies will be the fruit of that labor, if there is pride, greed is the seed of that labor but if faith is planted, then confidence and assurance will be the fruit of that labor, not fear, doubt, or regret. Pay attention to the fruit! Pay attention to the fruit.

Galatians 5:22,23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

If there isn’t kindness on their lips, gentleness in their speech, faith on their mind, peace in their heart, joy in their spirit, and discipline in their walk, are they really a CHRISTIAN?

Daily I ask the Lord if there’s anything in me that does not please you, remove it far from me, cleanse me of my unrighteosness, help me to be the perfect reflection of you and your glory. If my flesh rises up, cut it down, if pride shows up, humble me. I don’t want to be perceived as a christian, but my heart is full of wickedness. I don’t want to be part of the building, but not part of the body. Change me Lord, create me in clean heart, renew a right spirit within me, develop me, grow me Lord!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to present a poluted image of my savior, so that everyone else runs from, I want to be a reflection that everyone runs to! So I humble myself and seek for his guidence daily.

I am who I am because he leads me, and I follow in his footsteps!

Whatever I plant in faith, will be the result of my harvest.

Shower GRACE even if it's difficult to

My daughter was so tired this morning, grumpy, unmovable, and simply impossible. I gave her a break, and extended the hand of GRACE upon her. I was patient with her, kind, merciful, helped her get ready, dressed her, and even put her clothes on. All through this, I kept hearing […]
