Be doers of the WORD

SCRIPTURE FOCUS FOR THE DAY

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.

James 1:22-24 NLT

REFLECTION

When one looks in the mirror, he or she sees the reflection of self in it. All the imperfections, flaws, are clearly seen, and are perfectly reflected unto the screen before us. Naturally we don’t like smudges, and wrinkles, so we will try our best to remove them, or cover up with makeup, because lets face it, who likes to see zits, and pimples on one’s face?

NOT ME

The BIBLE is likened to a physical mirror in this passage. Looking in the mirror of GOD, WHICH IS THE WORD of GOD, we will naturally want to fix imperfections and flaws. As we dig deep into the scripture, those flaws, and weaknesses will be clearly seen, and our spirit man will urge us to remove those imperfections, far far away.

We don’t just read the bible, and walk away unchanged, we read the bible, apply the words to our life, and through the process, change into glorious image of Christ.

We become more like him, in our words, through our actions, and behaviors. We examine our hearts through the WORD of GOD, apply the treatment, and correct the image, to perfectly reflect CHRIST, and see the world through his eyes.

I hope you have been blessed through my study. My desire is that you too apply the WORD of GOD to your life, and walk away changed.

Yours truly, Lena
