This holiday Labor day weekend, we had an opportunity to go down to St Augustine, a 45 minute drive, and enjoy our afternoon in the sun, carousing through the streets of Old City St Augustine.

Our girls wanted to visit Old Jail, I wanted to walk around the shopping area, my favorite area, and my husband was just happy to be out with his family.

At first the Castillo Castle fortress caught our eye and we decided to stop in, and take a few pictures next to the magnificent War front Castillo De San Marcos… while the girls ran through the grass hills in the wind.

Here are a few pics we took

While taking pics the Lord reminded me to stand on the forefront and press through the battles. I concur!

I surely enjoyed our time together as a family. We don’t always have that time where we consciously set everything to the side, plus in the midst of this epidemic, it’s been kind of difficult to even get out and enjoy the outside.

Nevertheless, we decided to go for it this time. Eighty percent of the people on the streets wore masks, and in crowded places one hundred, with a few exceptions were socially distant, as well as covered with a mask.

It was difficult to navigate through the streets in the mask, but somehow we managed to make the best of it, and even enjoy our walk. The girls however did not like the idea of walking, complained and got frustrated. As always we made the best of journey, and carried on regardless.

Do consider your little ones and maybe get on the trolley, which also passes through the streets for sightseeing.

We rewarded the girls with some icecream, at the Icecream Shop, which was heavenly to say the least. Definatly recommended.

By the end of our adventurous day, we were tired, exhausted, and ready to head out! My husband carried our daughters on his back, as we walked through, to the parking garage area.

While looking through the pics this morning. I KEPT hearing the Lord reminding me to cast my cares upon him, and he will sustain us.

As my husband carried my daughter on his back, because she was tired, and exhausted from walking, so will the Lord carry our burdens on his back, when we cast our cares upon him !

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22

and again

Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 Passion Translation

We need to only stand still !

I hope you have been encouraged by my blog today, and that you too will cast your cares on him, who cares for you!
