With a few recent changes in my home, and schedule, I have not been able to blog much, or even step into my study. Well today I decided that I was going to catch up, and share the latest on my studies with you.
For the last week or so I have been in the book of Proverbs 11 sharing insights with the group, as well as recording segments at my podcast Firestarter Ignite
IF you have not yet joined Sword Study Delight I highly encourage you to do so. I share my studies with those around me, and insights from the holy scripture via FB group. Come say hello 👋😁
Solomon shares his wisdom in the book of Proverbs. Proverbs 10 as well as Proverbs 11 is filled with varies insights, and sayings that can surely benefit us, on our daily journey with God.
Here are a few from Proverbs 11
The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with God.verse 1
A comparecement of dishonest vs accurate weights. Dishonest scales are weights that lie cheat, manipulate, and deceive, whereas accurate weights display a true number. Just as humans hate dishonesty and cheating, God hates dishonesty and everything that comes along with it. He loves truth, and gives favor to those who are obedient to him.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.verse 12
What insightful words Solomon! With pride – that’s arrogance and selfish gain, comes shame, loss of honor, and respect. Pride brings destruction, where as humility brings wisdom, understanding, and insight. Wisdom starts with fear and relevance for God. When one begins to respect and honor God, doing that which pleases , and honors him, he in turn is honored, and respected by God.
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their own duplicity.verse 3
In other words, the unfaithful, those who cheat, lie, and manipulate, are destroyed by their own evil actions, but faithful are led by moral principles, honesty and God’s wisdom.
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but Righteousness delivers from death.verse 4
Right standing with God is the only safe way out, you cannot buy yourself into heaven, or buy yourself out of hell. Your wealth and earthly possesions will have no value in the day of judgement. Oh what a terrible day that will be!
Zephaniah describes that day as complete utter destruction, and chaos, a day of trouble and distress, the great and terrible day of the Lord.
That day will be a day of wrath— a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness.Zephaniah 1:15
Solomon, wisest man to ever live, had it all, passed down these wise insights, and we better pay attention!
