Day 5- Step into Action
Reading for Personal Growth, 40 Days with God Reflection by Matthew Myers
Okay. Come on. This book of James is putting it on me. Kidding. Today’s reading is a continuation of the last few days.
Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that- and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?
James 2: 15-20
Again this is a continuation of the previous days of reading. Don’t just do say you are a Christian. Don’t just go to church and profess faith. Do what Jesus taught us. Take care of the sick and the needy. Show God’s love and charity to those who are without. Basically, show people you are a Christian. Don’t just tell them about it. Your actions will speak louder than your words ever can.
THINK ABOUT IT> and as always I welcome your comments.
