DAY 6 PRIDE
This post was due yesterday but I failed to put it up. If you are following these, I apologize. As for today’s post, It is still in the book of James. Chapter 3 v 13-18. Seems this little bible study app I am reading from was made just for me because this one hit home pretty hard for me as well. God blessed me with intelligence, and too often I find myself having to be the smartest guy in the room. I have run my mouth and inserted my thoughts way too often when it was not necessary or needed. Perhaps, this is another example of that with these posts. That being said
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure, then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
I am not good at this at all. I believe God is helping me get better. In my younger days, I was very fiery and hot headed about what I wanted, “deserved”, in life jobs and everything. Even to the point of subverting co workers and friends to further myself. I relied solely on my own wisdom, and intelligence. Yet there was no peace in these actions. I am learning through his word that peace and my relationship with the Lord is more important. I pray that he continues his work in me that I can become the above mentioned peace maker.
