When situations around you are moving: Be still
Today’s Verse of the Day
This verse was taken out of a situation in the wilderness, when Egyptians were chasing down Israelites, and here is Moses, the leader of the Tribe, responding in a calm manner.
This was the moment that the Israelites were covered in fear, this is when Moses faith was tested. The moment that defined the rest of history.
The Israelites are furious, the army is following behind them, threatening to kill them…
And what does Moses do?
He instructs the people running for their lives to be still. What a strategy! To stand still, when the Egyptian army is threatening to kill. To stand still when the army is moving. Standing still is just not an option for that moment, however Moses obeys the Lord and does what is uncommon to men. To stand still, and see! Not run, not hide, not even fight, but stand still!
Standing still would require a greater amount of faith, and Israelietes just didn’t have that at the moment. They are complaining, grumbling, and now the army they are running from is following them.
Moses are you trying to kill us?
Moses, the leader of the Israelites, listening to their daily grumbling, musters up the courage and responds in a most awkward way!
I could not imagine being Moses, but I also remember moments when all I had was Faith! All I Could do was trust God. I couldn’t do what I needed to do unless God stepped in! I couldn’t move unless he told me to move.
Moses had to walk by Faith! Not knowing the results, but following through regardless. Waking by Faith requires confidence and trust like no other! Moses had to trust God and the plan for his life.
Maybe today you are struggling to face your giants, and they are intimidating you, and it seems there is no way out. Maybe it’s your health, and it’s not getting better, or it’s your finances, only more bills to pay, or maybe it’s your spouse, who refuses to accept God’s plan for your life. Maybe your children are misbehaving, and there is no rest, or you got a huge amount of things to do on your list, seems there is no peace! Maybe you got all these situations coming up out of nowehere, and you just want to give up, when giving up is not even an option. Seems you are at the end of your rope, and all hope is gone.
Fear not! The situations that you see today, will only last for a moment, for a time, a season, stand still, and trust God to handle the details. He is in control of your situation and he knows your NEXT! He knows and sees all, before you even formulate your sentences he already put a period.
Our God is MIGHTY, he is STRONG and he is POWERFULL!
Be still, and know, that God is in control. Don’t rush, don’t try to figure it out on your own, don’t compain, or even grumble, but stand still.
I wanted to take this statement and study it a bit further!
Standing still is not what we as human beings do, when trouble is around us. The normal thing to do when we face trouble is to worry, get our list together, call up a few friends, get frustrated, mad, and run, or hide.
But God says, we are to stand still.
To stand still – is to remain in place; hold still; remain fixed or immobile.

Remain trusting, remain holding on to truth, remain fixed in standing, and not be moved by the situations that are surrounding us on all sides.
God is who he says he is, and he is a rewarder of them who deliginatly seek him.
God truly does have our best interests at heart. He will never leave you, nor will he leave you abandoned, and distressed, hold on to his hand, and trust your CREATOR to lead you and sometimes carry you!
The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Moses gave the people of the Lord confidence, hope, and assurance to stand still. I pray you will receive confidence as you are reading this today, assurance that God has you, and your situation in his hand. May the Lord help you to overcome your diffuculties by standing still, unmovable, trusting in your savior. The Lord is on your side! May he guide your steps, and your heart to do what he instructs you to do, and gives you peace in the midst.
