Ephesians 3 : Letter to the Gentiles revealing God’s mighty power.

Ephesians 3 : Letter to the Gentiles revealing God’s mighty power.

We hear this statement a lot, and soothe ourselves with these words. God is able we say, more than able ! Exceedingly and abundantly able to do more than we can think or imagine.

Just how much you’re wondering?

Paul reveals the mystery of how much, right here in his letter.

Gentiles who did not have a part or right in the salvation plan, now do. God made it happen, he sends his only son to give everyone including the Gentiles, the right to be sons of God.

” that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Ephesians 3:16-19 ESV

Only God can do that, only God can reverse the plan of salvation, and include those who did not belong, to belong now. Imagine criminals who did not have a right, all of a sudden are given the right, and power to do as much as anyone else. Paul lets us know this mystery which has not been available before now. He shows us the soverngnity of God, and the Gentiles see it first hand.

The author, in this case Paul, gives God glory in his letter, the words we so often quote!

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV

and I’d like to amplify those very words, to not limit the power, and ability of God, he is able to do more than we can ever think, in our human understanding, or imagine.

Imagine a situation you cannot cross, or a circumstance that seems immovable! Well to God it’s nothing, he can move those mountains, and slay those giants, If we refuse to bow to the normality of things, and trust him instead.
