Overview of the BOOK: It has been documented and accepted that Apostle John wrote 1,2 and 3 John Letters. The same John that wrote the Book of Revelations and the 4th Gospel of John, of the New Testement Book, written to the church of believers, for the purpose of EXHORTATION. Themes and subjects are centered around - How to know the truth - How to live a life of love - How to identify false teaching regarding the Christian Faith - Divine Life - the teaching of fellowship, and conduct of a believer
1 John 2:26-29
26 I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. 28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. 29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.
REFLECTION
Here John is warning us again about the Antichrists and wolves in sheep clothing. He is saying do not listen to these false teachers but stick to what you were taught in scripture. He says the anointing you received from God remains in you and because of that you do not need anyone to teach you, the anointing Holy Spirit will teach you what u need to know. We are to continue in him, meaning doing his will, reaching the lost, praying, reading God's word, living right so that when he appears we will be unashamed. If you do what’s right you know you are born of him. No matter what the world says is right, we as his children are to do what God says is right.
As we live in this world is so easy to be tempted and drawn away from God, that’s why we must REMAIN in him. How do we do that? Read the Bible daily, pray, spend quiet time alone with God. He will mold you and take all worldly desires away.
PRAYER
Lord help us to overcome the flesh and worldly desires, help us to look to you and be about our Fathers business, and Lord let us be so full of your word that when the wolves and Antichrists come knocking, we send them away packing in Jesus name, Amen
NOTE
Remember to not let nay-Sayers lead you away from the true living God, Jesus Christ. If anyone brings another gospel that is not preached by the apostles, do not even give ear to it. Believers must be able to sort out truth from falsehood, with the spirit of discernment.
