Grateful Heart | Day 1

A Grateful Heart is truly the beginning of transformation

Many of us, go to God in prayer leaping directly into what we want and need. The Psalmist here reminds us that we should first approach God with gratitude and thankfulness. All good things are gifts from God. The life we have, the breath in our lungs, our families all come from Him. So, before we treat our Lord and Savior like Santa Claus who we just throw our wish list at to be fulfilled, let us first be grateful.

I thank you Lord for the life I have, the food you provide me both earthly and spiritually, the shelter I enjoy from the elements.

I thank you Lord for Vickie Amos who you have provided to me, her family which has taken me in and accepted me as one of their own, my church and church family that I love and feel that love reciprocated.

I thank you Lord for loving me long before I even existed and continued love through my days before coming to know you.

I thank you Lord for sending you son to pay my penance as a holy offering for my sin.

Thank you Lord for all your many blessings in my life.

If I continued with this we would be here all day. His blessings are endless and we should not have to stop long to think of things he has blessed us with. The point is we should never take all these things for granted, rather give praise to him and be thankful to Him for all these things.
