An Invitation to a Relationship

Blog-Delight

for the Soul and Spirit
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

Developing a strong bond with someone takes dedication and commitment. It requires a willingness to invest time and effort into another human being, as well as mutual respect, shared interests, and a solid foundation of understanding.

I had shared in my intro that I myself was quite familiar with Religion, but it wasn’t until my 30’s that I embraced Relationship with Christ.

Just as in any relationship you will a relationship with GOD too. Depending on your trust and level of commitment you will begin to develop a close bond with him. There are various levels to relationships. With some people you will create a close bond, while with others, not as close. Trust and commitment  play a huge part here. In order to let people into your life you will need to develop trust and bond with them. You cant just trust them off bat, or let them in full on, no you will have to get to know them, and then decide where they stand with you.

We know a lot about God, we hear stories, and read all about his miracles, but do we personally have a relationship with this so called God? Just like in  any relationship, this relationship will require trust and commitment to get to know him.

Religion is what we do for Christ to receive his forgiveness love and salvation;

Relationship is what CHRIST did ( on the CROSS), in spite of what we do, or do not do for him to receive his grace, salvation, freedom.

Religion exists, and existed from beginning of TIME

In the bible, we come across various sorts of people. Pharisee and Sadducee, as well as disciples, and followers of Jesus.

Pharisees tithe well, kept their record of attendance, wore appropriate clothing, followed the law to a tee, constantly accused JESUS for breaking the Sabbath, and watched his followers everywhere they went.

Disciples had personal relationship with Jesus, walked closely with him, dined with him, talked with him, even slept in the same room, and traveled the distance to preach the GOSPEL of the KINGDOM.

Religion, I knew how to play that card well! I knew religion, but did not know God. I HEARD STORIES, I read the bible, went to church, wore appropriate clothing, sing in choir, went to youth services, all the xyz’s of religion, I did it!

But hear me out, I did NOT KNOW him!

 One of the most terrifying bible verses that scares me, and most of followers of JESUS in the BIBLE is MATTHEW 7:21-23

Relationships that are built on a strong foundation are the ones that thrive and endure over time. So, take the time to nurture your relationships, prioritize open communication, and be willing to work through any challenges that arise. The effort will be well worth it in the end.

An excerpt from an upcoming book ” Purposefully Driven ” soon to be available for purchase.
