Wisdom STARTS when we willingly surrender our earthly pursuits, and desires, and seek heavenly things above all other things. Wisdom STARTS when we give God respect, and honor him, in all if our dealings, and put down all that dishonors, and displeases him.
Many seek for wisdom, but is it easily attainable?
Reading and studying God’s word opens up that understanding and knowledge. When we trust God, and what his word says, rather than what our opinion is, we show God that we trust him. Fear of God is developed in our hearts, which in turn grows wisdom. Heavenly wisdom, not just any wisdom! A wisdom that is beyond human understanding and comprehension.
James talks about wisdom, and the difference of it.
Two types of wisdom
There are two types of wisdom in this world;
Earthly wisdom is gained by experience, knowledge or education. This wisdom according to James is bitter envy, and is full of selfish ambition. Such wisdom does not come from heaven, but is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.
Reverence and respect to higher authority is the START of heavenly wisdom.
The second type is the wisdom of heaven, that is operated by humility, and honor and is gained through honest living. This type of wisdom is illustrated in the lives of those who live according to the precepts of God’s Holy Word; by living a good lives, acceptable, and pleasing to GOD.
Wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
To gain wisdom one must first seek for the fear of the Lord, and for understanding. Solomon in the book of Proverbs reveals this great mystery, and we better pay attention.
