Prayer for Our Children

In today’s world, where challenges are arising, it is essential to recognize the spiritual battles we face. As believers, we understand that when the enemy knows he cannot penetrate our defenses, he often seeks to strike at our most cherished connections—our families. This is carefully illustrated in 1 Peter 5:8, which warns us to be vigilant, for our adversary prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
The enemy often begins his assault by targeting the man of the house—the husband and father—who is called to be the protector and spiritual leader of the family. When he stands firm in his faith, the enemy may then turn his attention to the children, aiming to disrupt the peace and harmony within the home.
In this blog, we will explore powerful prayers that can safeguard our children and fortify our families against these spiritual attacks. Together, let us seek divine protection and guidance, ensuring that our homes remain sanctuaries of love, faith, and resilience.
You could be having a good morning, filled with hope and positivity, but then suddenly, your children wake up in a bad mood. This shift in atmosphere is not just a coincidence; it is often the enemy infiltrating your camp, attempting to sow discord and frustration before the day even begins. This is why it is crucial to cover your ground in prayer and to teach your children how to engage in spiritual warfare as well.
Before you embark on your daily activities, take a moment to pray for your children. In Ephesians 6:10-20, we are reminded to “put on the FULL armor of God” to protect ourselves and our families against the fiery darts of the enemy. This armor is not just a metaphor; it is a powerful tool that equips us to stand firm against any attack.
Pray for your children’s studies, their friends, and their connections. Let us not allow the enemy to send arrows aimed at destroying our children. We are their protectors, entrusted with the sacred duty of guiding them through life’s challenges with faith and resilience.
Prayer for Our Children
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your divine protection over our children. I thank You for my children, for their protection, daily provision, and the direction You provide in their lives. Be with my children as they wake up and throughout their day until they go to bed. Watch over them and keep them safe.
Any evil coming up against them, we dismiss now. Every evil agenda planned against them is decreed null and void. No weapon formed against my children shall prosper in any way. Let my children choose wisely and not settle for anything less than Your best for them. May they reap the rewards of my labor and remain steadfast in their faith.
Friendship with the world is not pleasing to You, God. Connect them to the right people and form godly connections, guarding them from all evil. Set a guard over their mouths and minds. Do not let evil whisper lies to them or entertain any harmful ideas. Every thought that exalts itself against Your knowledge, God, we take captive.
As an authority, I take charge over my children and cover them with the Blood of Jesus, from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet. Bless their education, Lord—bless their studies, their classes, teachers, staff, and beyond. Grant them knowledge, understanding, and insight in areas where they need it most. Provide their daily bread and forgive them their offenses.
Keep them as the apple of Your eye, hiding them under the shadow of Your wings. Watch over them throughout the day and bring them home safely.

Now that you have covered your ground, be assured that God is taking care of your children. Trust in His promises and remain vigilant in prayer, knowing that He is always watching over them.
