Apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of LOVE in the book of
1 Corinthians 13
THE CHAPTER OF LOVE
Let’s first define the definition of love via Dictionary.com
LOVE
a. strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties; for example maternal love for her child.
b. Attraction based on sexual desire, pertaining to lovers.
c. Affection based on admiration, or common interests.
We hear it preached enough at wedding ceremonies, emphasized FROM pulpits, spoken among family members, or passed between spouses, friends, and most importantly, our children.
Love love love everybody wants to be loved
Now let’s compare biblical definition of love
In the bible, love cannot be described as ONE word, but an adjective of many words.
Love is Patience
Patience the capacity, habit or fact of being patient.
able to bear pains or trials calmly, or without complaint.
being steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity.
Love is Kindness
Kindness the quality or state of being kind.
Having a sympathetic or helpful nature towards others, no matter how ugly or hateful they are to us.
LOVE does not Envy
Love does not show contempt towards others, but rather celebrates others. Love does not wish ill will on anyone, or is jealous of their success. That feeling of discontent or resentment, when you wish to have the same thing, or quality that someone else has, is envy, and not love.
LOVE does not boast
Real LOVE does not go around boasting about success, fame and money, love is humble, and meek, in all circumstances.
Love does not dishonor others
It does not speak bad about others, nor does it wish to break anyone down.
Love is not self seeking
This love does not seek selfish gain, but rather seeks to be selfless towards others.
Love is not easily angered
Soft spoken, well thought out, without anger, in calm manner.
Love keeps no record of wrong
This love overlooks the mistakes of others and shows compassion.
Love does not delight in evil
Love has no pleasure in entertaining evil or wicked deeds, and thoughts.
Always protects!
Covers from harm, damage, or destruction
Always trusts!
Reliance on character, ability, strength, or truth in something.
Always hopes!
Cherishing each moment with desire and anticipation.
Always perseveres!
Persists in spite of difficulties, opposition, or discouragement.
Never fails!
Never loosing strength, fall short, or become unsuccessful.
I can’t even compare this kind of love to anything in this world, that unconditional love!
Know this, and observe the actions of others. People can speak one thing, but do another, say one thing, but do quite the opposite.
In the Kingdom, worldly things are foolishness, and in the world wisdom of God is foolishness. We are in the world, but are not of this world.
According to biblical definition of love
Love is NOT sexual intimacy.
It’s not whispers in your ears.
It’s not gifts, or EVEN words of appreciation.
It’s not affection, feeling or emotions
LOVE IS
PATIENCE
KINDNESS
TRUTH
PROTECTION
HOPE
PERSEVERANCE
VICTORY
LOVE is SACRIFICE best demonstrated on the cross

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. There only two choices, believe, or reject. No in between! You either accept what Jesus taught, and have eternal life, or you reject and are doomed to destruction. For GOD so LOVED the world that he gave his ONE and only son. Laid his life down for others, selfless, patient, kind, loving father!
If today you have not experienced this unconditional love, run to the father, he has an abundance of his love for you. When you fully immerse in his love, you can freely give to others.
