Train up a child

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Did you know that investing time and effort in a child’s development tends to lead them in the right direction? Nurturing and guiding them can make a significant difference.

To train our children in the way should go reminds me of time my daughter, who is 15 today, kept approaching the electric socket and stereo wires during her infant years. Despite my repeated warnings to “stay away,” she would consistently crawl back to them, repeating the same actions as it were a game.

To train is to repeat the same step over and over again until your child understands it.

Training your child with efforts teaches them the principle of consistency and helps shape their future behavior.

To train is to guide and demonstrate by example, with words paired with action. This is how our children learn, not through force, but through repeated actions and consistency.

When my daughters were young, I would repeatedly a word to them then state my position on. It seemed as though I wasn’t getting through to them until they got older.

Now teach me, and I smile, for those were seeds I planted that have now blossomed in their lives.

Too much force or no action at all can cause a lot of damage and lead to rebellion. You don’t want to force anything on your children; you want them to willingly learn through repeated actions and open heart to it.

When you and your children are older, you cannot teach them the way you could when they were younger. Instead of regretting and wishing you could, what you would, take action now and train your children to walk upright while they are still in your home.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
NIV BIBLE

As parents, we are accountable to God and responsible for way our children walk and what they are taught we do everything in their presence, to be good examples, they will follow after and become who we train them to be.

Β

A good leader is not one who imposes his will on others, but one who leads by example.

As parents, we are accountable to God for our children. We are nurturing future leaders, spouses, CEOs, and it is imperative to instill good values and principles in our children so that they become responsible individuals who contribute positively to society and their peers.

I hope that we, as parents, stay aware and mindful of every step we take, because our little ones are watching and following us. We want show them a positive image of Christ, not one that distorts and dishonors Christianity and good behavior.
