Where to Start?
Before we actually read the BIBLE, let’s get to the Basics of the Bible, often referred to as an acronym
” Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth”
Believers’ manual or guide to godly living.
The Bible
66 BOOKS by over 40 different authors and writers.
The BIBLE is divided into 2 sections, the OLD Testament & the NEW Testament
39 BOOKS in the Old Testament
27 BOOKS in the New Testament
The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,”declares the Lord. “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Jeremiah 31:31-34
Covenant?
Covenant – Agreement or Contract, a binding legal agreement between people and GOD.
Old Testament focuses on Creation, Exodus of the Israelites, 10 Commandments, law and prophecies, historical books, poetry books, psalms and more.
New Testament focuses on Birth and life of JESUS, teachings, death, resurrection, the early church plus letters ( epistles) to the churches.
Old Testament required strict observances of law, and animal sacrifices.
New Testament involves a total change of heart, ” a circumcision of the heart) relationship, and one for all sacrifice Jesus Christ – the son of the living GOD.
By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear. Hebrews 8:13
It’s not about competition or a race; it’s about learning, self-awareness, application, and living out your faith. I started with Proverbs, and it became one of my favorite books in the Bible. I can’t put it down – there are so many treasures within!<br>
As you read, take time to:
– Reflect on what you’ve learned
– Journal your thoughts and insights
– Pray and ask God to guide you
– Share what you’ve learned with others

Keep going, stay consistent, and you’ll reach your destination in time. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you miss a day or two – simply get back on track and keep moving forward.
