Then beware, lest you forget the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage
Deuteronomy 6:12
NIV BIBLE

Philosopher George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” That usually refers to remembering the mistakes of the past, If we don’t remember them, we are likely to make them again. But the same could be said about blessings. If we fail to remember the blessings of the past, we are more likely to fear the future.

When Joshua led the Israelites into the Promised Land, he had a stone memorial built after they crossed the Jordan River. It was to remind future generations that God not only dried up the Jordan so they could cross, but He also parted the Red Sea so they could escape the Egyptian army (Joshua 4:19-24).

Before Jesus returned to heaven, He instituted a memorial meal by which, when celebrated, future generations of believers could remember His death for them. Remembering the blessings of the past is a powerful motivation for facing the future. So let’s remember not to forget.

KEEP A JOURNAL

I encourage you to keep a journal or diary in which to record what God has done in your life? It is a helpful way never to forget and make a great read for your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and others for generations to come. What a strategic way to minister, long after we’ve taken our flight.

Prayer

Father, in Jesus’ name, Today, we thank You for Your blessings and daily provision. We praise You for the beauty around us and the opportunities to love, give, and grow. Guide us as we face the unknown, knowing You hold us in Your care. Strengthen us, Lord, and inspire us to reflect Your love in all we do. Comfort the brokenhearted, restore weary souls, and help us rise above life’s storms. With Your power, we can soar like the eagle, trusting in Your perfect plan. You are faithful, and no one can stop Your blessings. Amen.

LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS 💭

Your Story is important to someone else. The details of your testimony are life to someone else. I couldn’t have spoken into strangers life, if I myself did not go through the battles. I can only speak because I know the pain, the hurt, and confusion. I pray God comforts us, and gives us the grace to tell our story, no matter how small the details are.

Let’s not hesitate to share our testimonies and help each other walk through the valleys, and reach our destinations together. With a sense of fulfillment, and helping others get there can be a rewarding and satisfying experience, because when we lift each other up, we don’t just reach our destinations, we thrive in them.

I’d love to share your Story on my SITE!
