A few LAUNDRY TIPS

to make your experience a BIT more enjoyable

Categorize laundry: Start by sorting your laundry into different piles of clothes, based on color, person and fabric; for example cotton and wool cannot be mixed together, you don’t want to end up yanking those nagging wool pieces, from your towels or favorite sweatshirt (trust me that happens quite often than not. ) jeans, towels and sweatshirts cannot be washed together, the colors may bleed and make your experience that more stressful. You have your husbands clothes, that he needs early in the morning, and your kids are looking for school clothes, and what about them sheets and blankets, towels and etc ? Just thinking about laundry makes my skin crawl…but not anymore, with a few tips from one mama to another your laundry experience can be a joyful time, less stressful, and done in no time.

Create a Schedule: Establish a laundry schedule that works for you. Depending if you are a working parent, stay at home mom, single or married, our schedules vary and are so different from one another. This is why we need a LAUNDRY schedule. Yes I schedule my laundry, and categorize how I am going to get things done. Whether it’s doing two quick loads,  or four you need time, and energy to complete them. Having a routine will help you stay on top of things and prevent laundry from piling up, which can create more stress and chaos.

Have everything handy. Be sure to have easy access to laundry soap, softener, bleach, stain remover, dry sheets, and other products nearby. You don’t want to be running all over the house, looking for stuff. This saves time, and makes your laundry time more organized and less time consuming.

Fold and put away immediately: Once your laundry is clean and dry, make it a habit to fold and put everything away right away, or lay it out on flat surface. I use the end of the couch, ironing board, or chair to keep it less wrinkled. This will prevent clean clothes from getting wrinkled, and unnecessary piling up of clothes that need to be ironed. I BARELY iron my clothes, with this method, which gives me more time to enjoy time with my family.

Involve others. When folding laundry, or putting away clean clothes, make sure you get others involved; watch a movie together, a sitcom, where everyone can fold together, and put their clothes away. This saves time, allows for quality time, and teaches children responsibility at an early age. If you know you’re going to do laundry set a time and space where you can fold laundry and entertain yourself in the process. This will make your laundry time less daunting and stressful.

Remember, staying organized with your laundry routine will not only save you time but also bring a sense of calm and order to your life. Happy laundering! 🌟👕👖
