relevant to all believers, including experiencing God’s sovereignty, justice, and mercy
I have personally read this BOOK, a few times, but this week, there’s something different about this STUDY. I wanted to share my STUDY NOTES with you the reader, to help you sharpen your Sword and ignite a desire to Study God’s WORD.
I am seeking, I am looking, listening attentively for him to show me. So much is catching my attention.
Ezekiel is describing what he saw in first personÂ
First of all why are we using pronouns, I’m a little bit confused…Â
stay with me,
A pronoun is a word that replaces a noun in a sentence to avoid repetition.Â
When referring to yourself in the first person, you can use pronouns like “I”, “me”, “we”, “us”, “mine”, “ours”, “myself”. First-person pronouns are used to talk about yourself, your opinions, and what happens to you.
When referring to yourself in the second person, you can use pronouns like “you, “yours”, “yourself “. These pronouns are uses to talk or refer to yourself as a second person.Â
Third-person pronouns are used to refer to “he”. “she”, “they”, “them” and are refered to as in third person clasification. Â
Now that we got that out of the way.Â
Â
Ezekiel describes his visions in first, second and third person classification. This is WHY it’s important to know the difference.Â
same person referring to himself in first person, then third personÂ
The act of referring to yourself in the third person is called illeism, which comes from the Latin word ille meaning “he” or “that man to make statements seem more objective and clear, without bias
he then goes back to speaking to himself in first person again
What he sees is mesmerizing
but also unusual and weirdÂ
let’s look at more details,
God speaks to us through scripture, search your heart, what is he saying to you ?
Â
It’s beyond our understanding and even comprehension what Ezekiel sees, YET he describes in detail, what he sees.Â
Now that you hear, how will you apply this teaching to your life?
and we’re DONE, join me for the NEXT Chapter so we can better understand the context, and what the Almighty SAYS, to Ezekiel, the priestÂ
