The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
NIV BIBLE

Solomon the wisest man to ever live sought God for wisdom. Ability to apply knowledge, experience, or common sense, to a situation or circumstance. Ability to divide right from wrong, and decipher truth from error. Reading and studying God’s word opens up that understanding and knowledge

What is Wisdom, and who is it for?

DEFINITION

Wisdomability to apply knowledge, experience, understanding or common sense and insight.

Wisdom STARTS when we willingly surrender our earthly pursuits, and desires, and seek heavenly things above all other things. Wisdom STARTS when we give God respect, and honor him, in all if our dealings, and put down all that dishonors, and displeases him.

Many seek for wisdom, but is it easily attainable?

Reading and studying God’s word opens up that understanding and knowledge. When we trust God, and what his word says, rather than what our opinion is, we show God that we trust him. Fear of God is developed in our hearts, which in turn grows wisdom. Heavenly wisdom, not just any wisdom! A wisdom that is beyond human understanding and comprehension.

James talks about wisdom, and the difference of it.

Two types of wisdom

There are two types of wisdom in this world;

  • earthly wisdom that is operated by pride, and
  • heavenly wisdom that is gained through honest living, and humility.

Earthly wisdom is gained by experience, knowledge or education. This wisdom according to James is bitter envy, and is full of selfish ambition. Such wisdom does not come from heaven, but is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.

For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
James 3: 13-16
NIV BIBLE

Reverence and respect to higher authority is the START of heavenly wisdom.

The second type is the wisdom of heaven, that is operated by humility, and honor and is gained through honest living. This type of wisdom is illustrated in the lives of those who live according to the precepts of God’s Holy Word; by living a good lives, acceptable, and pleasing to GOD.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:1-2
NIV BIBLE

Wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-lovingconsideratesubmissivefull of mercy and good fruitimpartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

To gain wisdom one must first seek for the fear of the Lord, and for understanding. Solomon in the book of Proverbs reveals this great mystery, and we better pay attention.

In the meantime…

live life to the fullest, laugh as much as you can, love without condition or measure.

Your Story is important to someone else. The details of your testimony are life to someone else. I couldn’t have spoken into strangers life, if I myself did not go through the battles. I can only speak because I know the pain, the hurt, and confusion. I pray God comforts us, and gives us the grace to tell our story, no matter how small the details are.

Let’s not hesitate to share our testimonies and help each other walk through the valleys, and reach our destinations together. With a sense of fulfillment, and helping others get there can be a rewarding and satisfying experience, because when we lift each other up, we don’t just reach our destinations, we thrive in them.

I’d love to share your Story on my SITE!
