Who is wisdom for?

the simpleminded to be clever and gain common sense

young people– to find purpose and meaning

wise – increase in knowledge and understanding

knowledgeable – to increase in guidance and direction, discernment and insight.

Earthly wisdom

1. Operated by pride.

2. Gained through experience, knowledge or education, reading of books, going to school, learning from experts. This wisdom according to James is bitter envy, and is full of selfish ambition

Heavenly Wisdom

1. Operated by humility, and honor and is gained through honest living.

2. Illustrated in the lives of those who live according to the precepts of God’s Holy Word; by living a good lives, acceptable, and pleasing to GOD.

3. all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Not wisdom of common sense, or present reality, but insight, and understanding, that comes from above; foolish to men, but delight to them who receive it, and accept it in their lives.

What is the fear of the Lord?

Reverence and respect to higher authority, GOD

What is Wisdom?

Wisdom is having the ability to know and understand what is right, true, or lasting.

Instructions in discipline, good conduct, doing what is right, just, and fair.

PURPOSE OF WISDOM

▪︎ for gaining understanding and instruction; for understanding words of insight;

▪︎ for receiving instruction in good and healthy behavior, doing what is right, just and fair;

▪︎ for the simple, for the young, wise, and not so wise.

▪︎ for understanding wise sayings, parables, and riddles of the wise.

Wisdom in metaphorical sense calls out to passerbyes to embrace and walk a different path.

Embrace wisdom and unlock a life of purpose and understanding, and stay away from those who influence and motivate to do evil.

Father God I come to you seeking wisdom. I understand that wisdom only comes from above. I must reject foolishness, and embrace wisdom. I have information, but I need your direction to navigate with wisdom. Lead me into all things, direct my steps, amen
