Prayer is the foundation of our relationship with God. Whether you’re making requests, praising Him, interceding for others, or giving thanks—each prayer carries power and authority.
In our journey of #faith, it's essential to sharpen our swords & deepen our knowledge & understanding of Scripture. Just as a Warrior prepares for battle, we too must equip ourselves with the Word of God, essentials of Faith and Prayer.
What is Prayer ?
Prayer is a conversation with the FATHER, our heavenly father, who desires to have a personal relationship with his children. A simple conversation, no fancy words, just simple words, with a transparent heart, and a humble spirit. Matthew 6:

My Prayer Story
I didn’t know how to Pray. I prayed repetitive prayers, I struggled with the idea of praying. I often recited repetitive prayers and listened to others pray, but I lacked my own unique approach to prayer. I didn’t truly understand how to connect with God in my own way.
This is how we should PRAY
But when you pray, go into your most private room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.
Matthew 6:6 { AMP }
Close off from the world, PAUSE, shift your FOCUS, and direct your prayers to GOD.
How NOT to Pray
You don’t need to pray fancy prayers, or pray eloquently, or the right type of way. Just open your mouth, your heart, and pray. He desires your authenticity and a humble heart. Psalm 51:17 ; Matthew 6: 5-7
My [only] sacrifice [acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.
Psalm 51:17
God values a humble and repentant heart. When we pray, He desires a spirit that is broken and contrite, reflecting true remorse and sincerity. This verse highlights the importance of approaching God with genuine humility and a willingness to turn away from wrongdoing.

Matthew 6 Pattern
Disciples did not know how to PRAY, Jesus left a pattern for them to follow. Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4

OUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN
RECOGNIZE WHO GOD IS, AND WHERE HE RESIDES, ALSO REALIZE THE POWER HE HOLDS IN HIS HAND. GOD IS OUR FATHER, AND WE ARE HIS CHILDREN. WHEN WE COME TO OUR FATHER, WE ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AS THE FATHER OF OUR LIFE, WHO PROTECTS US, GUIDES US, AND PROVIDES FOR US. HE IS A GOOD GOOD FATHER, AND GIVES GOOD GIFTS TO HIS CHILDREN.
HOLY BE YOUR NAME
HALLOWED IS ANOTHER WORD FOR “HOLY”, DO YOU MAGNIFY HIS NAME, DO YOU LIFT UP HIS NAME, OR ARE YOU COMING TO HIM WITH PROBLEMS? GO AHEAD AND MAGNIFY HIS NAME, AND TELL HIM HOW WONDERFUL HE IS IN YOUR LIFE.
YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN
WE AS INTERCESSORS OF CHRIST, MUST PRAY FORTH HIS WILL. HIS WILL, IS FOR HIS KINGDOM TO APPEAR IN ALL IT’S GLORY. THERE IS A HEAVENLY KINGDOM THAT IS ALREADY IN THE MIDST, AND WE MUST PRAY FORTH THE KINGDOM TO MANIFEST IN THE HEARTS OF PEOPLE, ON THIS EARTH, THROUGH HIS EARTHLY VESSELS.
GIVE US OUR DAILY BREAD
STOP ASKING FOR A CAR, A NEW HOUSE, BRAND NEW CLOTHES, ASK FOR DAILY BREAD, THAT WHICH IS NEEDED, FOR A DAY. HE WILL PROVIDE ALL OF YOUR NEEDS, ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES, AND HIS GLORY. STOP STRESSING SO MUCH, JUST GIVE IT TO GOD! IF GOD PROVIDES FOR THE BIRDS, AND CLOTHES LILIES IN THE FIELD, WHAT IS MEN?
AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS
WHO ARE OUR DEBTORS? THOSE WHO OWE US, OR WE FEEL, THEY OWE US. WE MUST FORGIVE OUR OFFENDERS, AND OUR LENDERS, IF WE EXPECT GOD TO FORGIVE US. WE MUST COVER OUR OFFENDERS, WITH GRACE, SO GOD CAN COVER US WITH GRACE. WE MUST EXTEND THE HAND OF MERCY, AND FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS, AS HE FORGIVES OUR DEBTS. ALL OF OUR DEBTS ARE PAID ON THE CROSS, 2000 YEARS AGO, WE MUST ALSO FORGIVE. RIGHT NOW THINK OF ANYONE WHO HAS DONE YOU WRONG, AND IN YOUR HEART FORGIVE THEM, THAT IS THE FIRST STEP TO RECEIVING FORGIVENESS FROM GOD.
AND LEAD NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL ONE
PRAY THAT GOD DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL ONE, SOMETIMES IT’S OUR OWN FLESH, AND OTHER TIMES IT’S THE DEVIL, NEVERTHELESS, PRAY THAT GOD DELIVERS US FROM THE TEMPTATIONS, AND EVIL DESIRES OF OUR FLESH. PRAY THAT GOD MAKES A WAY, AND COVERS US, WHEN TEMPTATIONS COME.
FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM, FOREVER AND EVER
REALIZE THAT YOU ARE NOT THE KING OF GOD’S CASTLE, AND THAT HE IS OVER YOU. HE SETS UP KINGS, AND HE REMOVES THEM. NOTHING ON THIS EARTH LAST FOREVER, HIS KINGDOM LAST FOREVER. YOU MUST WALK IN HUMILITY BEFORE THE KING WHO RULES YOUR CASTLE. ACKNOWLEDGE HIS PLACE IN YOUR HEART, AND GIVE HIM AUTHORITY TO RULE IN YOUR HEART.

THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE YES AND AMEN
OPEN YOUR HEART, AND JUST TALK TO HIM!

You never leave us, nor forsake us. You hold us with your righteous hand. You provide for our daily needs. We lack nothing. No good thing is withheld from us. We are the apple of your eye, hidden under the shadow of your wings. Resting safely in your embrace. We are strengthened, encouraged, empowered this morning to do great and mighty works. My soul knows this very well.
Forgive me my trespasses Lord. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from all evil. Overlook any offenses that I have caused, and any offenses done to me. I cover myself, my family. Everything that belongs to me, is under my authority! Power and dominion is in my hand, the blood of Jesus covers me, from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Create in me a clean heart, renew a right spirit in me. Examine my heart Lord, see if there’s any wicked thing in me, remove it far from me. Finish your good work in me, complete what you started in me. Establish your good works, and plans for my life. Cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Remove impure thoughts from me, align me with your holy spirit.
All my thoughts belong to you my mind stays on you. Every agenda, plot, scheme that the enemy will have against me today, I nullify it’s works now. No evil shall befall me, no disaster come near me. Command your angels to guard me in all of my ways.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper in any kind of way. Every thought, that rises against me in judgment is silenced, and condemned in Jesus Name. Power and authority belongs to me. I am the righteousness of God.
All that I have, all that I am belongs to you. You are in charge of everything I am, and everything I do. I glorify your work Lord. You are making all things beautiful in your timing. Your thoughts are good for me, plans to prosper me, give me a hope and the future, give me an expected end.
Let your light shine on my ways! Establish your good works in my life, amen!

Prayer is the foundation of our relationship with God. Whether you’re making requests, praising Him, interceding for others, or giving thanks—each prayer carries power and authority. I have personally taken the examples out of my own prayer life.
Prayer can be prayed in different ways
1. Request | Asking by Faith
When we make requests, we bring our needs, desires, and concerns before God. Whether it’s provision, guidance, or strength, we ask with faith, trusting that He hears us.
📖 “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” – Matthew 21:22

2. Worship | Honoring Who God is
Worship is more than a song—it’s an expression of love, reverence, and surrender to God. We worship Him for who He is, not just for what He does.
📖 “God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” – John 4:24

3. Praise | Exalting GOD
Through praise, we lift our voices, celebrating God’s goodness with singing, thanksgiving, and joyful adoration. Praise shifts our focus from problems to God’s power.

4. Petition | Bringing Needs Before the King
When we petition, we lay our burdens before God, not only for ourselves but also for others. Interceding in petition reflects a heart that trusts in God’s sovereignty.
📖 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6
📖 “Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]. Hebrews 4:16 AMP

5. Intercession | Standing in the Gap
Intercession is praying on behalf of others, whether for healing, salvation, or breakthrough. It mirrors Christ’s own heart—always interceding for us before the Father.
📖 “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” – James 5:16

6. Giving Thanks | Gratitude in Every Season
Thanksgiving is an act of faith, acknowledging God’s blessings even before we see them. A grateful heart shifts our perspective and strengthens our trust in Him.
📖 “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Your Story is important to someone else. The details of your testimony are life to someone else. I couldn’t have spoken into strangers life, if I myself did not go through the battles. I can only speak because I know the pain, the hurt, and confusion. I pray God comforts us, and gives us the grace to tell our story, no matter how small the details are.
Let’s not hesitate to share our testimonies and help each other walk through the valleys, and reach our destinations together. With a sense of fulfillment, and helping others get there can be a rewarding and satisfying experience, because when we lift each other up, we don’t just reach our destinations, we thrive in them.
