Prayer is a conversation with the FATHER, our heavenly father, who desires to have a personal relationship with his children. A simple conversation, no fancy words, just simple words, with a transparent heart and a humble spirit.

Let’s read Matthew 6:9-13 in Context
That’s 15 verses before and 15 verses after, taking note of historical, cultural, literary, and theological context.
This, then, is how you should Pray;
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Prayer
So a little bit about my journey on prayer…
I prayed before lunch, said my grace, bedtime prayers, and occasionally “drive safe” prayers.
Repetitive prayers, prayers that only reach the ceiling.
Not true or authentic prayers.
I didn’t know how to pray, or even understood the consept of prayer.
For MANY years! Even as a practicing Christian. Then one day, I asked God to teach me to pray.
Through a cultural song
” Teach me to pray, prayers that peirce heavens.”
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray.
He modeled to them the pattern of prayer in Matthew 6:9-13
Prayer and Anxiety
Let’s read Phillipians 4: 6-7 in Context
That’s 15 verses before and 15 verses after, taking note of historical, cultural, literary, and theological context.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayer & Anxiety
Being anxious is also part of human experience. Not have a clue of what’s next or what tomorrow brings. God tells us not to worry or be anxious, but instead trust and believe that God will provide and protect his own.
Not only trust, but also pray that God would come through and fill the need.
Because trust comes together like a glove with prayer.

simply means, don’t stop, keep praying until you see results.
Sometimes you may not see your answer, but if you pray God will surely answer your prayer.
maybe not today, or tommorow, but your answer is definitely coming.

I was NOT ready
I lacked knowledge and understanding of scripture,
I was told to believe that the enemy has bigger fish to catch, and fry. So when I stepped on the battlefield I was constantly getting hurt, and wounded.
I asked the Holy Spirit to help me, and to teach me, and he did.
Just as it is important to wear clothes, to protect ourselves from various forms of weather, and elements, so it is important to wear protective gear spiritually.
The Book of Ephesians 6, Paul reveals to us this spiritual armor, and the operations of the enemy at hand. Without the FULL Armor on we are open and vulnerable for the enemy to attack. Let us not be unaware of the devils plots and schemes. ” that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11
Growing up I struggled to understand basic concepts of Faith, as well as basic knowledge of scripture. As a result, I rejected and misunderstood my calling, as well as my true identity, as a believer of Christ.
Not only that, I did not know how to pray, let alone the importance of prayer, so as a result I kept getting hit left, and right until I had no prayer life, or even desire to follow Christ.

Your Story is important to someone else. The details of your testimony are life to someone else. I couldn’t have spoken into strangers life, if I myself did not go through the battles. I can only speak because I know the pain, the hurt, and confusion. I pray God comforts us, and gives us the grace to tell our story, no matter how small the details are.
Let’s not hesitate to share our testimonies and help each other walk through the valleys, and reach our destinations together. With a sense of fulfillment, and helping others get there can be a rewarding and satisfying experience, because when we lift each other up, we don’t just reach our destinations, we thrive in them.
