The Signs of Times?

Let’s Talk about it !

The End Times

Just look around you, on television, internet, outside amongst peers, social media; there’s stress, chaos, and bad news everywhere.

Wars and rumors of Wars

Earthquakes,

Famine,

 Politicians pinning up other politicians,

Kingdom of darkness is raging, kingdom of light is rising…

We should not be surprised, because JESUS warned us that such TIMES are coming! Matt 24; Luke 21:5-36

As foretold, we are to expect such TIMES.Gospel of Mark 13

The Chapter starts with disciples admiring the buildings, and JESUS reveals a shocking mystery.

Not one of these buildings will stand to the end.

Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down. (verses 2-3)

What will be the sign of the times?

1. DECEPTION.  Many will come in Jesus Name, claiming to be the Mesiah. Many will be misslead and missdirected. Matthew 7:22-23 foretells us that  many will question their stand with GOD.

did we not prophecy in your name? cast out devils? ”

and he will RESPOND ” DEPART from me, I never KNEW YOU ! Yes you did XYZ and you performed in my name, but we never had a RELATIONSHIP!

2. Wars and Rumors of Wars. Just turn on the NEWS, you will find your world in the BIBLE really quick.

3. Power Struggle, Uprising. Constant struggle of power, accusations, greed. It’s EVERYWHERE!

4. Division – Families are pinned up against one another, children are rebelling, hearts are cold, and many are walking away from TRUTH.

5. Earthquakes. Again turn on the NEWS, it’s Everywhere, by the thousands, constantly rising and developing  in different places, and regions.

6. Famine. Again turn on the NEWS, and scroll through social media, it’s everywhere.

Do not be surprised When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. (verses 7-8)

All this troubles, are part of what’s to come. Do not be alarmed, do not be surprised. Instead prepare, and get ready for what’s to come.

LABOR PAINS

Before DELIVERY, birth pains ( false and real) are to appearGospel of Mark 13

The listed ” signs of the times” are biblically compared to as birth pains.

When a woman goes into labor, she undergoes a process that leads to the delivery of her baby.

I remember my experience. With my first, the oldest, I didn’t feel anything, but with my second baby, I felt EVERYTHING and I mean everything.

First come braxton Hicks ( false labor pains that can be mistaken for real labor pains ) and then the real labor pains, which prepare the body for the DELIVERY process. Both are quite simmilar, but differ in intensity and timing when it comes down to the mother of the baby, and the process of labor. Those of us that are high pain tolerant won’t even realize when the real labor pains come in.

That was my story. With my first baby I had an epidural, that’s medicated birth, and with my second I had no choice but to deliver my baby without any medications. I could not pin point my braxton hicks from real birth pains, and my water broke in the tub before I even got to the hospital.

I remember clutching my husband’s hand, “I’m scared, I’m afraid”

I had to do it SCARED!

FUN STORY NOW, not a fun experience.

We are not to be afraid about what’s to come, we are to WATCH & Pray and be courageous in the face of difficulties.

Jesus warns us, and MARK scribes the details.

The times are COMING, but our loving, patient, father desires

That EVERYONE come to repentance! 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:4;

John 3:16 For God so loved the world…

Providing time for everyone to turn from sin, and run to God. God wants everyone to be saved, and come to the FULL knowledge of truth.

The Day of the Lord

In this next Section ( vs 14-37) the Dreadful Day of the LORD, or the DAY of his COMING is illustrated.

BUT not in good way.

– it will be  a TERRIBLE DAY

– for sun, moon, and stars,

there will be no governance, or order

chaos, dissorder everywhere,

– for pregnant mothers with nursing babies,

– in cold or winter seasons.

– difficult times like never before.

When will this be?

Be on guard! Be alert. You do not know when that time will come.

“Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back-whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’ ” ( vs 33-37)

No one knows the day or the hour, but the signs will foreshadow the end times.

Key Points

1. WATCH & PRAY. Every chance, every opportunity pray and watch what is happeing around you. Do not be misslead, do not be distracted, stay focused, and look ahead. Ephesians 6:18

2. Stay grounded. Sharpen your sword, put on the FULL armor of GOD. Don’t go into battle unprepared!  Ephesians 6:10-18

3. STAND. To the end, resilient in the face of battles, unbothered, courageous, strong. Ephesians 6:13

Journaling & Reflection

Reflection

Pray and Apply

  • Reread Mark 13:14-37. During your second reading, highlight every instruction Jesus gives to His disciples (e.g. “you must be praying,” “keep watch,” etc.) Reflect on these instructions and how you can put them into practice in your everyday life. Take a few minutes to pray in response to the turmoil and brokenness that exists in the world around you––from global and national events, to those in your own communities and neighborhoods in need of God’s salvation and restoration.

LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS 💭

Your Story is important to someone else. The details of your testimony are life to someone else. I couldn’t have spoken into strangers life, if I myself did not go through the battles. I can only speak because I know the pain, the hurt, and confusion. I pray God comforts us, and gives us the grace to tell our story, no matter how small the details are.

Let’s not hesitate to share our testimonies and help each other walk through the valleys, and reach our destinations together. With a sense of fulfillment, and helping others get there can be a rewarding and satisfying experience, because when we lift each other up, we don’t just reach our destinations, we thrive in them.

I’d love to share your Story on my SITE!
