LUKE 1 | Prophecy

OVERVIEW

In this episode, Luke the Physician outlines an orderly account of  Testimony of Jesus and his early days of life, including the prophecy of both John and Jesus foretold ( vs 5-25) ( vs 26-38) Mary visiting Elizabeth ( vs 39-56) The Birth of John the Baptist ( vs 57-66) Zechariah’s Prophecy. Birth of JOHN Prophecied

” Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. ” Luke 1:13

Can you imagine an angel visiting you?

  •
  • An angel named Gabriel appeared to Mary to tell her of the birth of Jesus.
  • An angel also appeared to Elizabeth to tell her she would have a son, when she was old and childless.
  •

Have you ever seen an angel?

Most people describe the experience terrifying and magnificent at the same time.

The angel delivers the message, and she is to have a SON.

Her situation seemed hopeless, until God showed up ! God send a deliverer into her situation. If he did it for Elizabeth and Zechariah he can do it for you and I!

“But they were childless because Elizabeth was not able to conceive, and they were both very old.” Luke 1: 7

“After this, his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion.Luke 1:24

  • I understand what it is like to live in seclusion, to not talk about your baby, your pregnancy. I hid my baby for 6 months.
  •
  • BUT GOD – he helped me through it ! He came to my rescue.
  • I prayed for my baby’s health, and for my delivery, ad I had a healthy babygirl, who is NOW almost 18 years old.

– an excerpt from my upcoming Book, ” Purposefully Driven” in which i outline my testimonies, Gods plan and purpose for my life, and a call to Ministry beyond the walls of the church.

Birth of Jesus Prophecied

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. Luke 1:31

  •  –The SAVIOR of the WORLD
  • – One who takes the sin of the world.
  • – the holy one, righteous one
  • – Son of the Most High
  •

How will this happen?

I have not been with a man!

The baby was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Another Imposibility

“To man this impossible but all things are possible with God.” Matthew 19:26

Matter Effect

Elizabeth is pregnant for six month, and she has not been able to concieve. A sign maybe?

Mary Visits Elizabeth

Mary visits Elizabeth who is also pregnant ( 6 months)

THE BABY leaps in her stomach at her arrival

God unites two women for a special purpose.

Mary Rejoices in the LORD

The Birth of John the Baptist

“When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. ” Luke 1:57

The babe was born as prophecied or foretold by an angel.

Zechariah names his son ” JOHN” who becomes JOHN the Baptist – proclaiming the Kingdom of God in the wilderness.

Zechariah's Prophecy

He sings a SONG OF PRAISE

Zechariah’s prophetic song about salvation, mercy, and the role of John the Baptist.

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. He has raised up a hornof salvation for us in the house of his servant David  (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us- to show mercy to our ancestors and to remember his holy covenant, the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear  in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.” (vs 68-78)

What promise has God made to you in this season, and how are you actively responding in faith to this promise? Has doubt, frustration or skepticism kept you from hopefully waiting for God to do the extraordinary in your life? Ask the Holy Spirit to examine your heart and show you how to respond to the promises of God with words and meditations of faith and hope. Spend a few minutes thanking God for His promises and reflecting on His faithfulness.

Mary showed extraordinary surrender to God’s plans for her life. Her willingness came at a cost. She risked being misunderstood, misjudged, disowned and even punished by accepting her immaculate pregnancy. Because she trusted God more than potential risks and fears, she became a part of the greatest story ever told!

How is God calling you to surrender to His plans? Pray and talk to God about His will for your life. Are you willing to surrender, once again, all of your life and desires to Him? Allow faith to rise up within you as you exchange your plans for His.

Is there a promise God has made to you that has yet to be fulfilled? How are you waiting? In what areas do you see Christ’s character developing within you as you wait? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the inward journey of your heart. Pray and ask for Christ’s character to be more fully developed in your life––and that faith would replace any doubt, and humility would replace any pride.

Birth of Jesus

” While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. ” Luke 2: 6-7

  • BORN in a Manger, HE COULD have been born anywhere, but he chose to be born in a place of humility to a simple family.

Another angel?

Appeared to the shephards, simple men and they decided to go see him.

“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.Luke 2:16

Dedication of Jesus

  • There comes a time when the parents dedicate their baby to God in front of other witnesses.

    by a man named Simeon.

I dedicated both of my babies to the LORD

WE AS PARENTS pledge to honor this example and dedicate our children too.

Think about the humble conditions in which Jesus was born and the people who were present at His birth. Reflect on both the humility and goodness of God. How has Jesus humbly appeared in your life to rescue and redeem you? How are you an unlikely candidate to experience the glory of God? Praise and worship God for a few minutes, either with your own words or by singing along to a favorite worship song. Thank God for His goodness and humility toward you and what it means to be a recipient of His amazing grace.

Reflect on the example we have in Simeon and Anna. How was their hope rewarded as they waited for the arrival of the Messiah? What can you learn about patience, endurance, faith and hope from their example? Talk to God about how you are currently waiting and allow Him to give you both direction and hope.

Jesus’ passion for God the Father was evident in His interaction with Mary at the temple. His deepest desire was to fulfill the will of the Father and to value what is precious to the heart of God. Twelve-year-old Jesus reminds us that our deepest desires will shape our decisions, our pursuits and our surrounding environments. Reflect for a few minutes on what you are actively pursuing right now and the environments you are drawn to. Do they reveal a deep desire for God the Father and a passion to do His will? Ask the Holy Spirit to purify your desires, and if you need to repent of empty pursuits that are greater than your desire to know God, ask for forgiveness and receive God’s mercy and grace. Ask Jesus to deepen your desire to know God better, to follow Him and to pursue what pleases Him.

LUKE 3 | Ministry Call

CHAPTER OUTLINE

OVERVIEW

In this episode, Luke the Physician outlines the Ministry of John the Baptist ( 1-20) including the Baptism of Jesus( vs 21-22) and Geneology of Jesus ( 23-38)

🎙 Tune in, learn, and apply the wisdom shared in this episode!

Ministry of John the Baptist

” He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. ” Luke 3:3

Ministry is a service dedicated to God and or his people. Jesus and many disciples of Jesus served in Ministry. People are serving in ministry all over the world.

Some in private, others in public. Don’t worry, serve and  let GOD establish YOU!

Can you imagine if you were the CHOSEN one?

As prophecied, John’s mission was to PREACH a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

John the Baptist completed his assignment, but not only completed an assignment, he also completed a prophetic assignment that was prophesied about him years prior to his BIRTH.

” As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet

“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God’s salvation.’ “

Luke 3:4-6

Prophecied by Isaiah 40:3-5

Purpose

What is Purpose ?

Purpose : – the intent for which something was created for. ⬅

No matter where we look, everything has a purpose, everyone is searching for a purpose. Now more than ever, people are looking for a higher calling, and the purpose for which they were created for.

but finding purpose is simple!

If you know what you are looking for!

Trust the Process

” And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment.”1 Corinthians 12:23b

If there’s a gift within you that you don’t fully understand yet, but you feel passionate about it, that’s okay!

Take one step, one day at a time.

Seek guidance—find a mentor who can help you refine your gift.

Trust the process—watch as your gift grows into something BIG and mighty!

Stay faithful—when we honor the small things, God expands our territory.

Every Part matters

Everything in creation has purpose—trees, flowers, the rain, the sun, and the moon. Houses, schools, and people—each serves a role. Whether it’s the bus driver, the lunch lady, the little girl with pigtails, or the shy boy in the corner, everyone has a purpose!

“Now if the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body…”1 Corinthians 12:15-18 NIV

No matter who you are, God has placed something special inside of you, meant to serve the greater purpose of the body.

We all have a purpose; some of us are called to preach, others to teach, some others to sing, lead, and make people laugh.

All of us are equipped for the call, we just need to discover it.

Whatever your GIFT is, embrace it and do the assignment well.

icon, leader, leadership-1623888.jpg

Every person—regardless of ability, personality, or background—has a purpose designed by God. We are all connected, and each role plays a vital part in fulfilling His greater plan.

” Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all it’s many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so, the body is not made up of one part but of many.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

The body is composed of many parts, yet each member of the body serves a different purpose!

Sometimes, we struggle to recognize our strengths, feeling discouraged and hopeless. Other times, we excel in too many areas, leaving us overwhelmed and pressured. But purpose unfolds gradually, revealing itself as we remain faithful in the small things.

I never imagined myself as a teacher, but after three years of teaching Sunday school, I discovered that I love teaching!

I have been serving and teaching close to five years now.

When God called me a Warrior, I doubted it—“You must have the wrong person, Lord. I don’t have any weapons to fight with!” But He equipped me, and today, I teach and equip others for battle, even though I once had no idea where to start.

Jesus Baptised

Baptism is a serious commitment to GOD and a witness to people.

” John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. ” Luke 3:16

” When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. ” Luke 3:21

JESUS was OBEDIENT to the CROSS!

Baptism is a serious commitment and should not be taken lightly or done just because everyone is doing it. You are publicly declaring your faith and your promise to God to serve him, to the best of your knowledge, in front of people you love, and gather with.

A word of WISDOM concerning BAPTISM

Make the commitment for YOU! Not your friends or for show, take this moment to heart and be serious!

Read the Bible so you would have the knowledge, no one can take away, spiritually equip yourself for life, and the battles that life brings. Memorize the scripture, but not for the sake of others, hide it deep in your heart. When the day of temptation comes, you will know what to do, and how to respond. Study the Bible for yourself, and not just study it, live it, and apply the Word of GOD to your life. Take this moment seriously, it is nothing to play around with.

LUKE 4 | Temptations & Ministry

CHAPTER OUTLINE

OVERVIEW

In this episode, Luke the Physician outlines the moments of temptations ( vs 1-13) and the beginning of Jesus’ healing and miracle-working ministry ( vs 14-44)

🎙 Tune in, learn, and apply the wisdom shared in this episode!

The Temptation of Jesus | Luke 4:1-13

” Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. ” Luke 4:1

What are some temptations that you have faced this week?

No one is exempt from temptations. Everyone will face temptations at one time or another. Jesus faced temptations, but he also overcame them all!

temptations are areas of your weakness, where you fall short, or are easily manipulated. We all have weaknesses and shortcomings.

I love this reminder!

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.1 Cor 10:13

Of course, don’t be ignorant, stay away from places that temp you, and try not to put yourself in the midst of things, that you know trigger you.

But know this,

EVEN if you fall into temptation, GOD will give you a way out.

flee temptation, don’t stay around like a fool, trying to find out, RUNNN!

Jesus faced temptations

Lie 1 : where the enemy came for HIS identity

“If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” ( vs 3

and Jesus came back at his with TRUTH

THE WORD OF GOD says

“It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’ Deut 8:3

Lie 2 : the enemy comes for his power

” and he said to him, I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”  ( vs 6-7

Jesus responds with the WORD

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.( Deut 6:13

Lie 3 : the enemy comes for his dominion & authority

“If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written: ” ‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. “ ( vs 9-11) Psalm 91:11,12

Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test. Deut 6:16

Again he uses the WORD of GOD to counterattack the lies of the enemy.

Jesus Begins His Ministry | Luke 4:14-32

“Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. ” Luke 4:14-15

Ministry is a service dedicated to God and or his people.

Jesus and many disciples of Jesus served in Ministry. People are serving in ministry all over the world.

Starting with CHURCHES to serving the needs of the Community and people in it.

Some in private, others in public.

Don’t worry, serve and let GOD establish YOU!

YOU TOO, may be called into Ministry!

Some of us are called to preach, others to teach, some others to sing, lead, and make people laugh.

All of us are equipped for the call, we just need to understand our part in the body and follow suit.

My Story

I had little knowledge about ministry work, but I have always had a natural heart for helping others who seek for encouragement, and prayer. After much prayer, fasting, and seeking God’s guidance, I felt compelled to start a ministry. Although I wasn’t a social media influencer, I enjoyed sharing inspirational messages through my Facebook posts. As I began to connect with others, people started reaching out to me for support, and I responded to their needs to the best of my ability.

What began as a single connection with someone in Virginia quickly expanded to others in Texas, and before I knew it, I was helping individuals in Nigeria, Michigan, and Zambia

Faithfulness is the Key

When you’re faithful with one, God sends more people your way, and soon after it becomes a ministry & your calling.

Greek Word for ministry , is “diakoneo” which means – to serve. To serve others in whatever capacity or space. Ministry is not only connected to a church building, or a pulpit ministry, it is serving others in whatever capacity we can, beyond church walls, and spaces. Reaching people at our schools, through social media spaces, work spaces, shining the light of Jesus into hearts and minds all around us.

One person with a flip phone asked for spiritual guidance, while another was facing religious confusion, divorce, and needed some advice. Some were looking for biblical advice, and others were searching for their identity and purpose.

I stepped in to serve. In Matthew 23:11 Jesus says, “ the greatest among you, is a servant.” Serving is my passion, serving is my natural talent.

I naturally open my heart to serve, in whatever capacity I can. When I was faithful with my first assignment which I will later touch on in the chapters, second assignment was ready for me, and when I was faithful with two, two more were waiting for me.

Facing Life’s Battles

The battles of life are inevitable, and we all encounter challenges along the way. It’s not a matter of if we face trouble, but when.

In moments of struggle, I find comfort in these words from John 16:33 (NIV)

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Jesus faced it all; temptations, slander, and even crucifixion. They lied about Him and spat in His face, yet He triumphed over the world.

Let’s remember that no matter the challenges we face, we can find strength and peace in His victory!

Reflect on Jesus’ ability to overcome temptation in the wilderness. What temptations are you currently facing? How can you actively rely on God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome them? Ask the Holy Spirit to bring a scripture or two to mind that you can meditate on and to receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit through prayer. Today, reach out to someone you trust to pray for you as you resist temptation and draw nearer to God.

Have you ever been frustrated by God’s timing or Jesus’ teachings? If so, how did that limit your ability to experience the blessings God had for you? Take some time to thank Jesus for who He is and to, once again, submit to His ways and to His timing.

LUKE 5 | Further Ministry & Fasting

CHAPTER OUTLINE

OVERVIEW

In this episode, Luke the Physician outlines the moments of the great fish, metaphorically sending out for the Great Commision ( vs 1-11) and the continuation of Jesus’ healing and miracle-working ministry ( vs 12-25) the call of Levi, and insight on fasting.

Great Catch & Commission | Luke 5:1-11

After some while JESUS calls Simon ( later known as Peter)

Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” ( vs 4)

Jesus commisioned Simon to throw down a net for a catch – metaphor for the GREAT COMMISION ( Mark 16:15)

MASTER we haven’t caught any fish, but if you say so…

OBEDIENCE

SACRICE, discomfort, submission to God’s plan and direction.

But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” ( vs 5)

and when he listened and obeyed, there was a great amount of fish in his NET

We can make excuses, and try to catch fish on our own, but until we surrender, we wont bring anyone to CHRIST

until we SUBMIT TO HIS DIRECTION, to his WORDS, to his PLAN

When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.” ( vs 6 )

Healing & Miracles Ministry | Luke 5:12-25

Call of Levi | Luke 5:27-32

When GOD touches your life, YOU leave everything to FOLLOW him!

YOU tell everyone what Christ has done for YOU!

You answer the GREAT COMMISION to bring people into the KINGDOM of GOD

Fasting | Luke 5: 33-39

Fasting – to abstain from all or some kinds of food or drink, especially as a religious observance.

The idea is to abstain, or give up food or specific area of interest, for an x amount of time, with purpose and intention.

On FASTING

During this time, God was shaping me through different groups and assignments. I grew in my purpose and discovered my true identity. I also helped others find their identities and step into their own purposes. However, I faced many distractions while leading. To prepare for this journey, I decided to go on a fast. This fasting and detoxing strengthened my spiritual discipline and stamina, enabling me to better serve those around me.

The fast way to discipline is fasting, a denial of food drink, for an x amount of time. That will get your body into submission quickly. Not only did I respond, I invited others to join me. More people, more encouragement, motivation. Many have joined, and have seen desirable results. Some have left, but I didnt let that discourage me, only challenge me.

Remember to fast with PURPOSE! Don’t just starve yourself from these items without some kind of spiritual purpose or intent. Present your request and FAST, coupled with scriptures that focus on the reques of your fast/abstaining.

On the Sabbath | Luke 6: 1-11

Shabbat, or the Sabbath, is derived from the Hebrew word shavat meaning “to rest.” It is a day of holiness observed weekly from Friday to Saturday sundown. It commemorates God’s day of rest after completing creation as described in Genesis 1.

Though the rest was instituted New Covenant

The Call of Disciples | Luke 6: 12-15

” When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.” Luke 6: 13-16

Ministry is a service dedicated to God and or his people.

Jesus and many disciples of Jesus served in Ministry. Healing, Delivering and setting people free. The condition they were in,

 DID NOT MATTER

People are serving in ministry all over the world.

Starting with CHURCHES to serving the needs of the Community and its people.

Jesus Teachings on Varies Matters| Luke 6: 17-49

” He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon, who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.” Luke 6:17-19

Blessings & Woes | Luke 6 : 20-26

known as Beatitudes

Blessings – happiness or joy

Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied.

Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. “

Woes – grief or misery

But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort.

Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry.

Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.

Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

Love for Enemies

Love as Jesus loves.

Judging Others

Examine yourself first, then go and show support to someone else, go and advice someone else. First teach yourself then go and teach others.

A Tree Is Known by Its Fruit

No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.Luke 6: 43-45

A tree is known by the fruit it bears. Galatians 5:22-23; Matthew 12:33

House on Rock & Sand

How you build your house matters. What you put in you will get. Build the HOUSE on the rock, it will withstand storms and every type of weather.

On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand.
