Stewed Cabbage

Stewed cabbage is a simple and easy dish that can be enjoyed on its own, or as a side dish…

Serves 4 people

Time: 20-40 min

Difficulty: Easy/Medium

Ready in 50 minutes


Measure, combine and saute the following ingredients: 

  • 1 tbsp oil or 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 carrot, grated 
  • 5 to 6 stalks green onions chopped thinly
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced in thin slices horizontally

Stir in:

  • chicken of choice (drums, wings, thigh) seasoned (salt, garlic pwd, creole seasoning)
  •  1/2 cabbage chopped thinly, and salted
  • 2 tbsp Raguu Sauce or ketchub ( YES Ukrainian cooks substitude ketchub a lot)
  • Seasoning to taste ( my preference is 1/2 tsp Salt, 1/4 tsp Black Pepper, 1 tsp Creole Seasoning, 1 tsp garlic powd and 1 sazon goya pack seasoning )


  1. Measure, combine and saute the following ingredients; onions, green onions, 2 cloves garlic, carrots, coat with oil or butter for 10 minutes and season to taste.
  2. Brown chicken in frying pan mix and saute for 5 more minutes.
  3. Stir in: veggies mix, chicken, cabbage, spoon out Raguu Sauce or ketchub on top, mix well. Let it COOK another 20 minutes until soft and cooked down. 

FYI: YES Rice Cooker is the fastest and easiest way} I totally recommend it, but you can also saute in a simple frying pan as well.
