When the WORD of GOD is preached, from the pulpits, or even read in scriptures, seeds are being sown into our spirit man. Depending on the condition of our heart, we will either accept the seed, and reap the harvest

READ Matthew 13:3-23

Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.

When the WORD of GOD is preached, from the pulpits, or even read in scriptures, seeds are being sown into our spirit man. Depending on the condition of our heart, we will either accept the seed, and reap the harvest; reject, because of thorns, or scorching weather; or let it stay on stony places in our lives, and taken by the enemy.
Jesus gives a revelation, through a parable, a spiritual analogy with a message, and only pure of heart will see the revelation. Strive to be pure of heart, and seek the KINGDOM of GOD within.
