WEEKLY Blessing

May you rest deeply in God’s unconditional love this week, allowing his perfect love to cast out every fear and overflow through you to others. – Bible in a YEAR

As we go through the WEEK let us ponder on what it means to be loved by God.

Love for the World DAY 1

God’s Love forms the foundation of His relationship with humanity and is demonstrared powerfully through His Son Jesus.

Bible in a YEAR

Let’s read John 3:16 in Context

That’s 15 verses before and 15 verses after, taking note of historical, cultural, literary, and theological context.

Now let’s Reflect

Use the S.O.A.P Bible Method to break down the meaning of scripture.

John 3:16

A well-known verse demonstrates God’s sacrifice for humanity. It shows us that “love isn’t just something God does, but who he is”  Love is an expression of God’s Character.

1 John 4:7-8; 1 Cor 13:4-8

Love knows no limits. Love overlooks wrongs and hopes for the best.

Love is patient and is kind.

Love is not jealous, boastful or proud

It does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable.

It keeps no record of being wronged.

It does not rejoice in injustice but rejoices with the truth.

Love never gives up, never loses faith.

is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance and season.

LOVE never fails.

Sacrifice DAY 3

“The very essence of God is LOVE. Every action He takes, every boundary He sets, every promise He makes, comes from this essence of Love, and flows from this core reality.”

– Bible in a YEAR

Let’s read  1 John 4:7-8 & 1 Cor 13:4-8 in Context

 1 John 4:7-8; 1 Cor 13:4-8

The first time I came across God’s Love was through a wall picture art.

Бог Є Любов! (Ukrainian Translation)
God is Love

At about 7 or 8 years old,
I wondered, God is Love? What is Love?

No one taught me love, no one talked about love,
but the picture spoke a thousand words!

God is LOVE.

It made me question, what is Love?

The God that we believe in nature is LOVE.

Love does no wrong; Love always wants what’s best for you, Love heals, restores.

Sacrifice DAY 3

Let’s read Romans 5:8 in Context

Now let’s Reflect

Romans 5:8

Demonstates this powerful truth to us

” while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

He didn’t wait for us to change or get our act together, he willingly DIED for humankind, when we didn’t even know him.

Jumped infront of a bullet to SAVE us!

I don’t know this kind of LOVE, only JESUS!

I was NOT ready

I lacked knowledge and understanding of scripture,

I was told to believe that the enemy has bigger fish to catch, and fry. So when I stepped on the battlefield I was constantly getting hurt, and wounded.

I asked the Holy Spirit to help me, and to teach me, and he did.

Just as it is important to wear clothes, to protect ourselves from various forms of weather, and elements, so it is important to wear protective gear spiritually.

The Book of Ephesians 6, Paul reveals to us this spiritual armor, and the operations of the enemy at hand. Without the FULL Armor on we are open and vulnerable for the enemy to attack. Let us not be unaware of the devils plots and schemes. ” that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11

Growing up I struggled to understand basic concepts of Faith, as well as basic knowledge of scripture. As a result, I rejected and misunderstood my calling, as well as my true identity, as a believer of Christ.

Not only that, I did not know how to pray, let alone the importance of prayer, so as a result I kept getting hit left, and right until I had no prayer life, or even desire to follow Christ.

GOD CHANGED MY STORY!
