After spending the entire summer without much training, my baby gal attempted to do a few pushups. She quickly realized she wasn’t in shape and couldn’t even manage a couple of pushups. Feeling defeated, and discouraged she broke down and didn’t want to try again.
” Sweetheart, your body needs a bit of work handle the pressure, and those little arms aren’t quite enough for pushups just yet. Here’s the plan: you’ve got a few days before school starts to get in shape. It’s not going to be easy, and giving up isn’t an option. Heading into eighth grade and military school, they’re going to expect you to show up prepared. So it’s time to get serious!”
When it comes to fitness, our bodies often aren’t strong enough to handle the pressure. So, when life’s storms hit and troubles arise, we tend to cave in and break down, crying.
Having a mentor in our lives can make all the difference. Someone who believes in us, pushes us to succeed, and refuses to let us give up is invaluable. Alternatively, finding an accountability partner can be just as effective—someone who keeps us on track and motivated while offering encouragement along the way.
Today I am stepping up to the plate, and keeping myself accountable, to RUN, to get fit whatever means necessary.
