Have you ever watched a child put together a puzzle or build a Lego creation? As a mom, I’ve spent plenty of time assembling puzzles and blocks with my children. And in those moments, I’ve noticed something profound—there are two types of learners in this world.
🔹 Some will follow the instructions carefully, step by step, ensuring they complete the project correctly. 🔹 Others will try to wing it, attempting to piece things together without direction.
The difference between these two approaches? The first child will likely finish the puzzle successfully, while the second may struggle, get frustrated, and even give up when things don’t fit.
I have seen a child get so excited about putting the blocks together, until things don’t work out for them. They will throw all those blocks to the side, and run away. Instead of asking for help, they will be frustrated, angry, somewhere in the corner pouting.
When you give instructions to a wise man, and he is willing to follow the instructions, he is likely to become wiser. Teach that same man a better way to do something, and he will increase in his level of understanding. He will not make excuses, or try to act all powerful. NO he will humble himself, and receive instructions, because he knows knowledge will bring him revelation, and insight.
This isn’t just true for children—it applies to life. Many of us, when faced with challenges, either seek wisdom and instruction or try to navigate blindly, leading to frustration.
God’s Word acts as our divine instruction manual—guiding us through challenges, helping us avoid missteps, and keeping us on a path of purpose.
When life doesn’t go as planned, do we:
a) Throw everything aside in frustration?
b) Seek wisdom, ask for guidance, and grow through the process?
Many biblical heroes struggled with moments of doubt, uncertainty, and frustration—but rather than walking away, they embraced wisdom and trusted God’s guidance.
🌱 Learning is a process. Growth requires a process. Wisdom is found in instruction.
Lord,
Help me today to accept Your guidance and direction, trusting in the wisdom You provide. When I think I know it all, remind me to walk in humility, receiving wisdom not only from You but also from those You send into my life.
I desire to increase in knowledge and understanding, growing in faith and discernment. Lead me in the path of righteousness, aligning my steps with Your will. Forgive me for the moments I resisted instruction—for pouting, for turning away when I should have listened. Grant me another chance, Lord, and help me to embrace learning with an open heart.
Thank You for Your grace that reaches me, even when I don’t deserve it. Your love sustains me, and Your presence strengthens me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
