I was kneeling down to fix my shoes when I realized something surprising

I’m was not as flexible as I used to be.

Buckling my sandals had become a struggle,

a small yet telling sign of how life’s demands had pulled me away from taking care of myself.

Just a month ago, I turned 41, and in the whirlwind of responsibilities, I got busy, sidetracked, and distracted.

I had intended to stay consistent with my self-care routine, but obstacles and challenges kept getting in the way.

Since the beginning of April, however, I decided to take matters into my own hands, much like my dad always says.

“Бери себя в руки”

Basically saying to discipline yourself

Taking Charge of My Health

I started with rollerblading, running, and even playing a match or two with my husband on the weekends. It felt good to be active again!

Thanks babe it’s always such a good time playing a match of pickleball with you. Can’t wait to do it again!

But then, I took a hard look at the scale

181 lbs

I could hardly believe my eyes!

It was time for a change!

Normally I’d weight between 140-160

this was crossing the LINE

AND I needed to do something FAST!

That’s when I decided to embark on a

Summer Fitness Challenge

My goal?

Do a series of workout moves for the next 15 days, and periodically change my moves or add on workout gear.

15 days filled with running, weight training, stretches, and various workouts.

As of today, I’m proud to report that I’ve completed 15 days. I’m 3 inches smaller and 5 lbs lighter

And I can finally buckle my sandals with no issues!

Way to go, me!

Small steps, big goals!

Today as I look back, I am so grateful that I didn’t give up,

Not only did I complete the challenge, I am now fit to continue with the challenge and introduce Faith into it.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things...

NIV BIBLE

 Inspired by Youversion Bible Plan

It doesn’t begin in the gym or in your local church.

It doesn’t begin in your small group or on the track.

It begins in your mind and heart.

Though you might be tempted to see faith and fitness as two completely unrelated activities, for integration and growth to occur, you must begin to see all of life

the physical and spiritual

as connected.

Being intentional is key to succeeding at anything, and I believe this journey will help us grow together in our faith and fitness.

Are You In?

Join me on this transformative journey, and let’s reflect together!
