Waiting is a period of time where we are in a state of anticipation for something to happen. It is a transitional phase that we often find ourselves in, whether we like it or not. Waiting can be an uncomfortable and frustrating experience that requires patience and perseverance. It can also be a time of reflection and contemplation, allowing us to assess our goals and priorities and make important decisions.

While waiting, we may experience a range of emotions such as excitement, anxiety, boredom, or hopelessness. How we handle waiting can greatly impact our mental and emotional well-being.

We can choose to use the time to cultivate a positive mindset, focus on self-improvement, and find joy in the present moment. Ultimately, waiting is a necessary part of life that can teach us valuable lessons and help us grow as individuals.

We all wait in life.

Have you seen anyone who has never waited for anything, no matter how long or short? I doubt if such a person exists.

Maybe.

——-Before I got admission into the university, I waited for four years. Yes, four good years. Those moments of waiting were hellish. I cried. I worried. I envied my mates who got admission before me. In retrospect, I wished I had a mentor or someone who could teach me how to invest the waiting years. My concern now isn’t that I waited for four years, rather, the thought of what I should have accomplished within those years. Now, I know better and act better.————

Why do I have to share my story with you? So you would know that I’ve waited too. Not just admission, I waited for youth service and I’m still waiting for a couple of things as I write this. So, this is not theory, it’s what I’ve experienced. One way or the other, we all wait in life. It could be for admission, job, marriage, childbirth etc.

The question is, what do you do while you wait? Do you go about feeling like you are the most unfortunate being on earth? Do you throw a pity party every now and then? That’s a very bad way to wait. Sadly, doing any of that could even keep you longer in the problem.

What then should you do?

🌺Maintain an attitude of thanksgiving. This alone could connect you faster to your miracle. Be grateful for the blessings you have while expecting more.

🌺While you wait, don’t waste. Keep investing in yourself and preparing for that blessing you desire. Of course, there could be people who would seem to be getting the same thing you desire on a platter of gold – with little or no effort. Be happy for them. Rather than resorting to envy, celebrate with others.

🌺By all means, don’t waste your waiting period on negative emotions and frivolities. I’ve had my fair share of waiting in life but I’ve learned to maximize my waiting seasons. You can do so too. What you desire will surely come, but when it comes, what memory of your waiting season would you have? That is what matters. If you are waiting, wait successfully!
