We all go through moments where we feel anxious, and scared because of something we read on social media, something we heard from someone else, or even imagined in our thoughts.

Songs to Listen to related to this TOPIC

I have No Rights to the songs, or videos, but I do recommend them

Tossing and turning left to right, I COULDN’T sleep, the clock ticking louder every second by the minute, I looked at the clock by my door, and it’s 2:00 AM

I should be sleeping, but here I am tossing and turning unable to fall alsleep. The thoughts of fear causing me to imagine things that are not there, imaginary stories, and plot lines, twists and turns that made me feel anxious and uneasy.

Yesterday in class, I had a school assignment to write 10 facts about an article on Idaho College Murders ” “which opened the door to my fears“, my mom always says that.

I look at the window and I feel anxious, thoughts keep creeping in my mind, overpowering and overshaddowing my thoughts, making me feel unsafe in my own room.

I should be sleeping, but here I am STILL tossing and turning! It’s 3:00 AM on a school night, thinking of ways, “how should I sleep, where should I sleep?”

I decided to go to my sisters room, she was soundly asleep, I quetly sneaked into her bed, kissed her goodnight on her forhead, and got ready to sleep.

I looked around, still couldn’t sleep, As an overthinker I’m thinking of multiple ways to fall alsleep, or for time to pass by, instead I got more anxious.

When you start to imagine things, or focus on things, they grow and become bigger. That small fear you had in the beggining all of a sudden became heavy and overwhelming, causing you to imagine further things, in a negative way, changing your real perspective and thoughts. Think upon good things, and positive things which will shrink your negative perspective and get rid of the negative thoughts in your mind.

Thoughts or ideas popped up in my head “ watch a Youtube Vlog, scroll through Instagram, make a design on Canva, but none of them gave me the peace I was looking for.

How about search for scriptures, mom always said ” take your thoughts captive” how do I do that?

I GOOGLE searched ” scriptures to read when scared‘ a few scriptures came up in my search engine

Psalms 23

Psalms 27

Psalms 46

Psalms 118

also Psalms 91

I read all of them, reading through the chapters shifted my focus from being scared and anxious to feeling surrounded by peace, which calmed my mind enough to fall asleep.

Psalm 27: 1-3

Why should I be afraid, the Lord is my fortress protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid.”

Psalm 91: 5; 11

“Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day;”

“For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go”

Cast your cares and worries on the LORD, for he will sustain you!
