During my journey of questioning my beliefs, I found it hard to understand the fundamentals of faith, such as salvation, divine nature of Christ, and prayer. These fundamentals are important for Christians to follow and to strengthen their faith. Prayer is especially crucial and cannot be overlooked in building a strong foundation of faith and purpose.

Prayer is easy if we understand it. We don’t need to make it difficult like some people believe. I discovered this after researching and thinking about it.

but before we get to the nitty and gritty

Lets start with the BASICS

What is Prayer and some of the important fundamentals of Prayer.

Prayer is when you talk to God.

Highter power than yourself.

Talking about important things that are meaningful to you.

God wants to communicate with us in a way that is familiar, just like how we talk to people we care about or collaborate with.

He knows a lot about you and I but don’t think he knows everything that we can do. It’s like when a parent knows everything about their child, but as the child gets older, they still learn new things, and can surprise their parent. He knows our daily routine and even our curfew, but he can still be surprised by us.

Prayer is not just repeating words and asking for things. It can be done in many ways and styles.

God speaks to us not only through our own words, but also through his words in worship and praise.

Why do we pray?

GOD the father, desires to talk with us, and not just talk to us, but have deep discussions, and two sided conversations. Where we do the talking and he is listening, then he does the talking, and we are listening. To create a relationship with him, get to know him, his plan and purpose for our lives, then act accourdingly to fullfill our calling.

Prayer is very important to us. Without it, we’re like dead bones. Just like we need water, bread, and air to survive physically, we need prayer to survive spiritually.

PAUSE, put on some worship music, and open your ears to hear. He is speaking, but are we listening?

God is VERY personal, if we just open our eyes to see him, and our ears to hear him, we will see and hear HIM.

He speaks to us in different way, through different means.

God is faithful, even if we’re not, yet he extends his hand of GRACE, and invites us into his presence. Don’t be having one sided conversations with GOD. Talk, request, ask, then LISTEN. He talks, he responds, and he desires to have communion with us.
