The enemy, our opponent wants to harm us and ruin our relationship with God. We shouldn't allow that to happen. We must pray before starting our day in order to safeguard ourselves against our enemy. What is prayer, and how should we pray? Keep on reading...
A pattern is given to us to follow along with the mapped-out blueprint.
As a seamstress, I know the importance of patterns.
In sewing and fashion design, a pattern is the template from which the parts of a garment are traced onto woven or knitted fabrics before being cut out and assembled.
Patterns are made to be followed, and patterned after, especially when making a specific product or working with a certain material. If we do not follow along, or we refuse to stay on track, we may cut too close, or not close enough, making more work for ourselves. Trust me, experience is the best lesson in life and I lived the moment.
I asked a little boy in my class, ” Do you know what prayer is?
He shook his head, “No”
I got down to his level, as we all should do for those who are small in the faith and are new believers in Christ.
We can pray to God about others
We can ask God for things we need and desire.
We can Praise him for how wonderful he is
We can worship him for who he is !
He looked at me and smiled, oh OK
Then I asked him, “So can you pray”?
He nodded joyfully, YES!
Bless my parents. Thank you for my teachers.
And then I asked the rest of the class, can you pray, they all joyfully said YES. Just from observing and listening they learned how to pray. As long as I live I will teach prayer this way.
Prayer to Pray
I glorify you this morning. I give you praise and honor this morning. You are exalted in my life. Honor and praise belongs to you. Your protection, your guidance, your direction is constant in my life. You provide for my daily needs, and desires, my cup runs over. Goodness and mercy follows me, everywhere I go. Thank you for your love, your kindness, towards us, humankind. I glorify your mighty works in my life.
Thank you for starting me on my day, the the gift of life, breath in my lungs, movement in my bones.
Thank you for my strength this morning. Thank you for the energy that you give, thank you for health, and my well-being. My mind is set on you, my heart is turned to you. I seek your will and purpose for my life. I am prosperous, focused, aligned, and ready to step into what you have called me to, this morning.
You surround me as with the shield of fire, no weapon formed against me, prospers in any kind of way. You protect me everywhere I go, you guard me in all of my ways. You shield me from all harm and danger.
Teach me, lead me, guide me! I am your pen, you are the author, instruct me in the way I should go.
